Corporate Profile
Who We Are
When Dennis B. Schubert broke away from employment at a traditional Grader in 2001, he left with a singular idea and a strong set of core values to back it up. He believed that the best way to work with Thrift Institutions was to be their ally, and that he could expedite business for both Thrifts and Graders, adding value by helping them move from a mentality of one-time transactions to a belief in the value of stable long-term relationships.
That was the beginning of DBS Thrift Connection.
Today, that tradition is continued by Dennis’s daughter, Julie Treanor, and her husband and business partner Zack Treanor. The DBS business model is focused on strong business fundamentals combined with traditional relationship-centered transactions. Our business volume has tripled in the last 5 years, reinforcing our commitment to our core values.
Our success has also supported the establishment of our Brokering A Better Tomorrow program. Through this program, we honor our commitment to global citizenship by donating time and resources to Thrift Institutions that benefit the planet and improve the lives of the needy worldwide.
Our Mission
Many things are changing as the ‘rag business’ becomes more globalized and we work toward modern technologies, but one thing will not change: We remain committed to optimizing transactions between thrift organizations and the buyers of their excess apparel, books and other post-consumer donations. We also maintain a strong commitment to raising awareness and evolving industry standards in the secondary consumer goods recycling industry.
DBS Is YOUR Thrift Connection
DBS is a second-generation family-owned business offering a unique, full-service approach to the used-goods industry. Whether you represent a Thrift Institution or a Buyer of excess donations, DBS can help you to work more effectively. Because we neither collect donated items nor process them into salable product, we can remain an unbiased third party, working for the best interests of all. We represent large pools of both buyers and sellers of excess donated items, and we are constantly recruiting new partners, so we can efficiently match buyers to inventory.
We make your operation run smoother by managing the details for you. Because this is our primary business, we have a strong focus on efficient logistics, effective communications and clean transactions—and no hidden agenda.
We strive to optimize our processes so that each transaction is smoother than the last, and we maintain the flexibility to adapt quickly to changing needs and circumstances. We are proud to offer the best service in the business – give us a try and you’ll see why DBS is Your Thrift Connection.
Whether you are a Thrift Institution or a Grader/Recycler, call us at (530) 809-1561 or email us at info@dbsthriftconnection.com today to discuss your needs in the used-textile industry.
